How It Works
The GM816 uses a rotating impeller (vane anemometer) design. When air flows across the sensor fan at the top of the device, the impeller spins at a rate proportional to the wind speed. The onboard electronics calculate the rotational speed and convert it to an accurate wind speed reading, displayed in real time on the LCD. Air temperature is measured simultaneously via an integrated NTC thermistor sensor and shown on the lower portion of the display.
Simply hold the device facing into the wind, and readings update continuously — no warm-up time required.
