COD Sensor (Chemical Oxygen Demand Sensor)

A COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) sensor is a device used to measure the amount of oxygen required to chemically oxidize all organic substances in water. COD is an important indicator of water quality and is used to assess the level of pollution or contamination in wastewater from industrial plants and communities.

Working Principle:
Most COD sensors operate based on the UV-Vis light absorption principle. Organic substances in the water absorb UV light at specific wavelengths, allowing the amount of organic matter to be measured without the use of chemicals. Some sensor models may automatically compensate for turbidity to provide accurate results.
